PERMITS:

Wyoming oversize permits can be obtained from Ports of Entry by the driver (refer to the phone list at the bottom of this page). The driver is required to call the Port/Scale at least one hour before arrival and secure a clearance number. Failure to comply may result in a fine of up to $500 and a 24-hour shutdown. Typically, the permit is valid for either one day or one trip.

OPERATING TIME:

Travel is permitted from one-half hour before sunrise to one-half hour after sunset, inclusive of weekends. Additionally, loads not exceeding 10′ in width, with all other dimensions within legal limits, are allowed to travel at night on Interstate highways, provided proper lighting is in place.

RESTRICTED TRAVEL:

Holiday travel is generally allowed for loads not requiring escorts. However, Ports of Entry are closed during holidays, so it is advisable to check with the Port for pre-ordering permits if you plan to travel on a holiday.
